The remains of a man identity still yet to be confirmed by police and thought to be around 50
years old—was found at the Brooklyn
home of his mother, Rita Wolfensohn,
a woman who is legally blind.

The man’s fully intact skeleton was
discovered by her sister-in-law
Josette Buchman who went into the home
to collect some supplies after Wolfensohn suffered
a fall and had to be taken to a
hospital. Josette Buchman discovered the remains, fully dressed
and lying on a mattress, in the second
bedroom.
The room, was full of garbage and
cobwebs, as if, as one police source

that “the room reeked of rotting food,
but not of decaying flesh.”
When interrogated about her son, the blind old woman Wolfensohn spoke of him as though
she thought he had moved out a long
time ago. Family members—mostly said to be estranged from Wolfensohn and her
children—said they had not seen the
man, who was once a taxi driver, in about 20
years.
Police believe the man died from
natural causes but investigations are still on going.
