3RD MAINLAND BRIDGE AUTO CRASH CLAIMS LIFE.





It was a sad Sunday as the accident which occurred near the UNILAG waterfront, inward Iyana-Oworonshoki took the lives of 5 individuals.
Mr Michael Akindele, the General Manager, Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEPA), confirmed this in a statement he made available in a statement  in Lagos. 
 The accident involved a LAGBUS, a Hilux pick up belonging to a local vigilance group and a Rover jeep.
``Five persons comprising: three female adults and two children died in the accident.
``Their bodies have been moved to the Lagos Mainland Hospital mortuary by the State Environmental Health Monitoring Unit (SEHMU).
``Five others who sustained injuries have been transported by LASAMBUS to another general hospital’s trauma centre.
``The appropriate agencies where on ground to ensure free flow of traffic after the accident : LASTMA, FRSC, Nigerian Police and the Rapid Response Squad (RRS)", 
He added that the LASEMA response unit has also removed the affected vehicles from the scene of the accident.
 
The LASEMA General Manager also said that the relevant government agencies would conduct proper investigation into the cause of the accident and release a result soon.
Akindele advised all motorists to reduce their speed while driving.
He also advised them to always adhere to all traffic rules and regulation while driving to avoid accidents on the road.
